Born on April 17, 1946 in Chevely, MD to the late John Charles and Miriam Irene “Mim” (Malick) Warlow.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George “Jim” Warlow.
Surviving Susan is her loving husband of 55 years, Robert D. Shaffstall; daughters Kimberly (Bryce) Fager and Stacy (Andrew) Yolch; grandsons, Ethan and Charlie Fager and Andrew H. Yolch; brothers, John and Joe Warlow; as well as multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.
Susan graduated from the Reading School of Nursing and went on to receive her Master’s degree in Health Administration. She was very proud of her and her family’s education and of her time in nursing. Susan spent 50 years in her career as a nurse, working as a manager in the emergency room at Holy Spirit Hospital, supervisor at Claremont Nursing Home and nurse with Hospice of Central PA. She also volunteered with the Red Cross and was a CPR instructor. Susan was an avid animal lover and volunteered with Speranza Animal Rescue. She loved to travel and enjoyed cruises with her husband to a variety of destinations both within and outside of the country. Susan was known to keep score and work crowd control for the softball games. She also enjoyed independent movies and loved attending The Allenberry Playhouse Theater. Above all, her grandchildren were the light of her life. You were always sure to find her attending all events they were involved with- no matter what!
A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 11, 2023 from 10:00-11:00am in Neill Funeral Home; 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Memorial services will begin at 11:00am.
Friends and family are invited to a reception following the services at Silver Spring Community Banquet Center; 6471 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
In lieu of flowers, Susan’s family asks that you make a memorial donation to Speranza Animal Rescue, Homeland Hospice or The Salvation Army.
