Virginia Anne Jenks

Born February 8, 1944, in Chelmsford, England, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Betty (Russell) Gummo.

She was a 1958 graduate of Middletown Area High School and a member of the United Methodist Church in Middletown. Throughout her life she was employed as a hairdresser for over 20 years and most recently as a teacher’s assistant at Crossroads Middle School in Lewisberry, PA.

She adored animals; her dogs were constant loving companions throughout her life.

Virigina married John Hershey Jenks Jr. July 9, 1960, who preceded her in death in March of 2012. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, David Gummo.

Surviving Virginia is her son Christopher Jenks (Sherri); Daughters: Kathryn Wiles and Kerri L. Paul; Grandchildren: Nicole Jenks, Travis Wiles (Ashley), Jessica Jenks, Matthew Jenks, Brianna Mebust (Trevor), Kyliegh Jenks, Brohdy Knopp & his fiancé Taylor Kemrer and Dawson Knopp and 14 great-grandchildren; Brothers: Richard Gummo (Gayle) and Robert Gummo. Sister: Mary Gummo Gustin & her significant other Jim Walkden; Aunt: Valerie Lodge and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday June 20, 2025, at 1pm at Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St. Camp Hill, PA 17011. A viewing will precede the funeral at 12pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
