IN THE CARE OF
Sutton's Campbell River Funeral Home
Al was a man of few words. He was an amazing listener and an astute observer. He spent years exploring the beauty of BC..both the wilderness areas and the water. Most of his working life found him on the waters off our coast, our interior lakes, the Artic and the majestic rivers of the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
Upon retirement Al realized a dream of becoming captain of his own boat. Al had many interest including music, cooking, sports and history. Al lived life on his terms. In a world filled with increasing noise and complexity Al found quiet and simplicity. He marveled at the whales passing by his front window and the baby deer frolicking in the back.
Al loved and was deeply loved by his partner Erika of 48 years. He is the last of his immediate family. He valued the relationships of his family ties: Les and extended family; Hedi/James; John/Dave and many friends who crossed his path.
Al was very grateful to Dr. Shaw, Dr. Farias and Dr. Morrison for helping him through this last chapter in his life with compassion and understanding
A very special thank you to the community nurses of the Central team including Kiley, our very special community nutritionist. These wonderful professionals provided continued support and encouragement for both himself and Erika during his last difficult months.
