To my dear sister Jean, you were a wonderful, supportive and devoted wife to Dennis.  You had almost 40 years together. Dennis knew how to make you laugh, he had a great sense of humour and in many family settings, he could always make light of a situation. There were not many topics Dennis could not converse in--he was a highly intelligent man. Dennis lived a long life, until his latter years when he was faced with some health challenges.

My sincerest sympathies go out to you Jean, Dennis's children, Tanya and Alan.

Sincere sympathy to Jean and family. Denis will be remembered for lively interesting conversations and partaking in many family events. He was great at debates and we enjoyed many diners and family events of which he was present.

Dennis Horgan,  A person with a sense of adventure & a love of the outdoors as a hiker & hunter.  Dennis & Jean moved to Desmarais, Drumheller, Alexis Creek, Comox and Campbell River, they also visited New Mexico.   From those distant locations they always found a way to come visit our family whether we were in Prince Rupert or Grand Forks the trek was never too far.  They would arrive as survivalist with a truck load of goodies packed in with their winter gear traveling over snow packed roads with firewood  starter "just in case".

They came for special occasions, Christmas, Easter and milestone events Birthdays & Graduations.  We had some wonderful times spent at the Rock Creek Fall Fair, Tubing on the Granby River & Family Fishing weekend campout at Jewel Lake.  Often times the visits would included my parents and they became good friends which was rekindled in their move to Campbell River.  The house would be full. 

Dennis likes his solitude & would take a moment to find some peace from the activity, heading outdoors to search for the perfect piece of wood to whittle a bow or walking stick, or he would be the first to say he needed to walk the dog.

It's on one of these little escapes while walking Sasha they encountered our local foul smelling little black and white wildlife with a stripe. Dennis & Sasha returned to the house not quite sure what happened because it was dusk.  One whiff from our trained noses told us they had an encounter with a SKUNK!!  Out came the tomato juice and then the vinegar to clean everyone up.  The odour lingered for a long time

We knew Dennis as an avid reader and always quick witted with a pun.  He also took great pride in baking his famous everything in it but the kitchen sink 3lbs of Gluten Free Bread.  His other specialities were the hearty pressure cooker chicken soup and a perfectly cooked roast.
