Predeceased by her father Jack Pressner(1998), brother Gary Pressner(2009), and beloved Maltese Bailey(2013). She is survived by her former husband Gordon Lee, daughter Heather (Brian), grandson Victor, mother Kathy McDougal, brother Ralph (Nicole), niece Jordan and nephews Seth, Andy and Tanner. She will also be missed by many friends whom she considered to be family, such as Pat and Cindy, Gary and Wanda, Peter and Uche, Bill and Carmen, Bob, Nan, and many others.
Living in Grand Prairie AB until the age of 13 (1968), Irene and her family moved to Princeton for slightly more than one year then continued on to settle in Campbell River (1969). Irene went on to graduate from Carihi in 1973 with bursaries to attend BCIT but due to a two year wait list did not enroll. She was eager to get started with her adult life and accepted a job at BC TEL where she made many friends. Later she took brief employment with Campbell River Credit Union which lead to her accepting a position at CIBC in 1981 where she again made many friends and continued to work until regrettably taking an indefinite absence due to medical reasons.
Irene met Gord in 1975. Together they enjoyed fishing, camping, listening to music, taking small trips and spending time with friends. Irene and Gord were married April 18, 1986 in Burnaby at their good friends Peter and Uches. After which they flew, aside from her fear of flying, to Jamaica for their honeymoon. After the birth of their Daughter Heather(1985) they continued to camp and took many small trips throughout BC and the western United States. Although separated in 2009 Irene and Gord maintained a friendship and many mutual friends.
Irene will be missed by many but more so she will always be there to watch over us.
Irene's family requests services be held at a later date. If any contributions are felt necessary the family asks that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation in Irene's name.
Arrangements under the direction of Sutton's Campbell River Funeral Home, Campbell River, BC.
