John David Livingston

Campbell River Hospital. John was born on October 14, 1932 in Flin Flon, Manitoba, the second

youngest of ten children. John completed an electrical apprenticeship at Cominco Ltd. In Trail

B.C. where he worked as an electrician until 1965 when he moved his family to Black Creek and

worked at the Pulp and Paper Mill in Campbell River as an electrical foreman until his retirement

in 1990.

After a few years of retirement, at age 65, John decided he wanted to build another home for

himself and his wife, Elizabeth on a treed piece of property they owned, and he wanted to do it

all himself. He bought a small bulldozer and a saw mill and logged the trees on the property and

cut his own lumber from those trees which he used to first build a huge garage and workshop

and then the house itself. It was quite an accomplishment for one man but John was always very

independent, a hard worker, and was very good at figuring out how to get things done.

John is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty), his brother Bernie, his six children, Diane (Vlasty)

Senovsky, Graham (Donna), John (Barbara), Mark (Tammy), Paul (Bernadette), and Gerald

(Cristina), eleven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

There will be a small private service at the home John built. John will be cremated and his remains

will be laid to rest in the Black Creek Cemetery.
