Michael Joseph Gerard Barwell

Michael Joseph Gerrard Barwell, born August 6, 1959, of Campbell River, British Columbia passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. Michael was 62 years old and had fought a long and brave battle against cancer.

Michael was a well respected iron worker who worked in locals in Ontario, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. He loved playing golf in Campbell River and was an avid member of the Campbell River Taoist Tai Chi group which he travelled across Canada attending numerous events with.

Michael was a generous person and often donated to various charities. He was the 9th born of 13 children from Hamilton, Ontario and is survived by his wife Irene whom he married in 1987. He was predeceased by his Mother and Father and brother Donald. He leaves behind his brothers David, Tim, Bernie, and Bill as well as his sisters Barbara, Marlene, Theresa, Sheila, Gail, Sharon, and Patricia. His memory will live on in future generations through his many nieces, nephews, and his grand-nieces.

A viewing will be taking place in the chapel at Sutton's Campbell River Funeral Home

on Thursday, Dec. 9 2021 at 5:00pm - 6:00pm.
