Shirley was born in Edmonton, Alberta. Her family moved near Edson, Alberta to a small coal mining area called The Coal Branch. Shirley was raised in the outdoors and loved berry picking with her father.
When Shirley was 16 years old her family moved to Campbell River, BC where she met her husband, Angus Krug. Shirley lived in Campbell River until she moved to Glacier View Lodge where she lived her last years.
Shirley was a talented woman, she painted, drew, sang and wrote poems all through her life. She had a great sense of humour in her feisty way.
Shirley’s greatest accomplishment was her six girls: Judy (Krug) Polysou (Nick), Patricia Krug, Joanne (Krug) Mills (Gordon Jaques), Linda Krug, Leslie Krug (Stewart Bell) and Lori (Krug) Fry. Shirley was a braggart as far as her cherished girls were concerned!
Shirley will be deeply missed by her daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. This lineage is her legacy.
We want to thank Dr. Bullock and the entire Glacier View Lodge staff for their sensitivity, kindness, compassion and care. We felt so involved and supported.
At 1:30 am on Mar. 18, 2025, the world lost a good one. Shirley will be remembered with love.
There will be no service for Shirley.
