It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sue Patten on December 1st 2012 at Campbell River hospital. It is difficult to say goodbye to such a brave and wonderful woman. She leaves behind her loving husband Rob, son Dave, daughter Bonnie, grandchildren Jamie, Jack and Dan all of whom she was very proud. She also leaves behind her brother John, father in law Len, brother in law Dave, son in law Reg, daughter in law Jayne and many nephews and nieces in Canada and the U.K.
Born in the U.K. Sue immigrated to Canada with husband Rob and children Dave and Bonnie in 1982. She loved Campbell River and soon settled into the life style, creating a home and supporting her family. Over the years she made a lot of friends and hosted many memorable evenings. Her easy going ways and generosity endeared her to many people. Foremost in Sue's life was her family; she loved them dearly and was never happier than when she was with them all. Her talented eye for making any house a home was extraordinary, she was always a joy to come home to. We will miss her.
The family wishes to convey our sincere thanks to our wonderful friends, who have stood by us throughout Sue's illness. We would also like to thank the home-care nurses of the South team, in particular, Barb and Marlene for all their skill, kindness and support and Joan, for her Reiki sessions and the caring management and exceptional nurses on the 3rd floor of the Campbell River Hospital, and Dr. Proctor for all his guidance and compassion.
A Celebration of Life drop-in open house will be held at the Museum at Campbell River, 470 Island Highway, Campbell River, BC on Saturday December 15th 2012 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
