Tracey Sandilands

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Tracey Sandilands, who left us on Wednesday, August 6th, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tracey faced her illness with the same determination, grace, and stubborn resolve that defined her life-fighting until the very end and always doing it her way.

Born with an adventurous spirit, Tracey lived boldly, embracing opportunities as they came and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was known for her wit, her love of cute cats and dogs, and her infectious laughter.

Tracey's proudest role in life was being a mother to her daughter, Leigh-Anne. In her career, she built and ran a successful writing business for 15 years, earning respect for her dedication and skill. She hoped her life would inspire others to take the plunge and never hesitate to chase their dreams.

She found happiness in listening to audiobooks, kayaking on Canada's beautiful waters, and connecting deeply with friends near and far. Her favourite song, Wind Beneath My Wings, and her favourite colour, red, reflected her vibrant and uplifting presence.

Tracey will be remembered as a happy soul who cared deeply for others, loved animals, and brought light into every room she entered. Her legacy is one of strength, love, laughter, and fierce determination-a spirit that lives on in the countless lives she touched.

We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, stories, and support from Tracey's friends, our friends, and our family. Your words, hugs, and shared memories bring comfort in the midst of our sorrow.

In honour of Tracey's life, we invite all who knew her to remember her not in the shadow of loss but in the warmth of the love she gave so freely.
