Irène Gallant

At the ‘Faubourg du Mascaret’ Manor, Moncton, passed away Mrs. Irene Gallant (Hachey) of Moncton on March 2, 2023 at the age of 95 years and 11 months. Born in Atholville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Jacques (Jim) Gallant and the late Catherine Arseneau.

Mrs. Gallant worked for several years at the Campbellton Psychiatric Hospital (CHR) as a care worker and at the Canadian Red Cross as a home helper. She also volunteered her time at the Villa du repos when she moved to Moncton in 1992.

She is survived by her seven children: Raymonde of Kitchener (Ontario), Rejeanne (Richard Hatt) of Moncton (NB), Muriel of Wellesley (Ontario), Jacques (Celine Blouin) of Dieppe (NB), Jean of Playa del Carmen (Mexico), Lyne of Oliver, BC and Terry of Montreal (Quebec), his sister-in-law Françoise Gallant, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister Bertha and her brothers Valmond, Normand, and Gerard. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Irene Gallant will rest at Savoie Funeral Home, located at 47 Alexander Street, Campbellton, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a liturgy of the word in the parlor beginning at 11 a.m.
