Vernon was born at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital, November 20, 1958. He was predeceased by his parents, Vivian and Guthrie McDavid and also by his brother Gerald and nephew Aaron McDavid.
Living all his life in Flatlands, NB, Vernon was a truck driver at Day and Ross for 30 years, retiring in October 2021. Vernon enjoyed morning coffee at Tim Horton's with a group of friends. He was an avid reader who loved telling stories and asking many questions. Like his wife, Lorrie, Vernon loved animals and helped many strays have a better life. He helped others without being asked and never expected anything in return. Vernon was known to wear shorts and what he called tourist socks until late in the year. He liked nothing better than playing practical jokes on his friends.
Vernon leaves behind his sister-in-law, Belinda (Gerald), sisters Colleen Anderson (Walter) and Sharon Saunders (Dale). Brother-in-laws Bob Boddle (Sylvie), Scott Boddle, and Troy Boddle. Favorite son-in-law to Gail and Donald Murray and many nieces and nephews. Vernon also leaves behind many close friends who were like family.
On Wednesday, August 14, the family will welcome family and friends at Savoie's Funeral Home located at 47 Alexander Street, Campbellton, NB from 7-9pm. On Thursday, August 15, there will be a graveside burial service at 2pm at the Flatlands Cemetery with a Celebration of Life at the Glencoe Community Center to follow.
