

Barbara was born in the town of Lennox, CA on June 1, 1930 and was the elder sister of Doris who were the children of Anne and George Kent.
She leaves behind her sister Doris Tolone and sons, Robert, John, Ken and Mark and their families. She also survived by her in-laws Larry Bliley, Gene and Betty Jean Bliley and their two children Steve and Greg.
After marrying Robert Langford in 1952, they made a home in Inglewood, CA and then moved to Gardena, CA in 1959. They enjoyed many friends in the neighborhood and their parish, Maria Regina Catholic Church, where they were very active in church, school, and extracurricular activities. She held fond memories of her time as a Cub Scout Den Mom, and Home & School Co-Chairperson and was proud of her four Eagle Scout sons.
In 1974, the family moved to Woodland Hills, CA. Barbara enrolled at CSUN and completed her BA in General Education in 1980. Her engaging personality brought her success in sales and customer service positions in insurance, retail, and engineering services.
She was blessed with 35 years of marriage to her loving husband, Robert, who died in 1987 at the age of 59. She then focused her attention on family life including her sons’ families, and six grandchildren: Erin, Dylan, Parker, Travis, Julianna, and John. Her home was the site of countless birthday, holiday, and theme parties including her famous costume parties.
Remaining active all her life, she took up tennis, golf, and bowling in her retirement years, but above all, she loved dancing and enjoying other people’s company. She took her beautiful smile and positive encouragements wherever she went and brought love and laughter to countless new and old friends.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Bernardine of Siena Catholic Church in Woodland Hills, Tuesday June 14th, 2016 at 10:00AM. Internment will follow immediately at Oakwood Cemetery in Chatsworth, next to her beloved husband.
