On December 11, 2014 Carl was ushered up to Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and now resides with Him.
Carl and his family moved from Worchester to Inglewood California in 1949 and then resided in Lawndale for most of his younger years. He attended Luezinger High School. A born leader, confident and self motivated young man, was active in community service, student government and sports. He was elected Senior Class President, was captain of the varsity football team, which took league championship and went to CIF playoffs.
Carl was awarded Leuzinger’s most coveted award, ‘Olympian Boy” in 1965, for his outstanding leadership, community service, academics and sports.
In 1967 Carl joined the Navy. He served seven years, two years at sea as a radio man on a guided missile destroyer.
When he returned home he began using his management skills taking a position as Sr. Manager of 3 automotive centers.
Carl enjoyed nice cars and fast boats, at a very early age. He would buy them, enjoy them and then sell them for a profit.
During those early boating years he met a friend who introduced him to the recruiting business. He soon established his own business, Kingsley Forbes, Ltd. During his career he had relationships that shaped the world we live in today. Companies like: Northrup, Lockheed, McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, Gulf Oil and British Petroleum.
Carl met the love of his life, Helen Poladian. He knew the moment he laid eyes on her that she was the one he would spend the rest of his life with. He adored her and counted her precious. They enjoyed 44 years in a marriage that was filled with love and commitment to the Lord, each other and their family.
Carl and Helen are blessed with two children Timothy and Carla. Timothy and his wife Christal and his grandchildren, Delilah, Rose, Lilly, Seethe and Hannah brought tremendous joy in his life. His daughter Carla, who lives nearby and works in the same office, was a delight to him. Carl was most proud of his children and enjoyed every aspect of their lives.
Carl’s love of God, life, family and people was extraordinary. He was the most giving and caring person on the planet. His “Can do spirit” encouraged and inspired everyone. He and Helen, for many years, have provided Christmas gifts for children in hospitals, foster homes and places where children are in need. He has provided Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinners for our Veterans. He leaves a legacy of giving and servant leadership. He was always eager to help, wherever and when help was needed, with a cheerful heart.
Carl is survived by his wife Helen, son Timothy, daughter in law Christal, grandchildren Delilah and Rose,
Seethe and Hannah, daughter Carla and brother Bill.
Carl was a beloved husband, father; grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. Our world and this world is a far better place because he was here. He will be missed dearly.
“Job well done, good and faithful servant.”
