Chester Chet William Webb Jr.

Chester “Chet” William Webb Jr., age 70 of California’s San Fernando Valley, passed away on Tuesday May 28th 2013 in Canoga Park, CA. Chet was born on January 5th, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Chester Sr. and Mary Webb. Chet lived his entire life in various cities in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley area, except for 3 years spent abroad in the Navy. He joined the Navy in 1960, touring the Pacific until his honorable discharge in 1963. He earned a degree in Geography from Cal State Northridge in 1973.

Chet’s free spirit kept him in constant motion and on the move, always making new friends and acquaintances along the way. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and fellow veterans from the VA, and especially enjoyed spending time with his buddies at the VA Gym. He was very proud of his family and loved seeing life through the eyes of his grandchildren, it made the world seem new to him again.

Chet is survived by his daughter Vanessa and her husband Patrick Coady of Phoenix, his son Matt and his wife Rachel Webb of Sacramento, his grandchildren Ruby, Lucy, Landon, Megan, Indigo and Nathan, and his sister Donna and her husband Norman Burrows of Studio City, CA.

Services will be held at Gates, Kingsley & Gates Praiswater Mortuary, 6909 Canoga Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303 on Saturday June 8th. Visitation at 10:00am followed by funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will take place at a later date at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
