Clifford Lee McGarry

Clifford Lee McGarry, 77, of Reseda, CA, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on March 4, 2015, surrounded by his family. Cliff was born to Charles and Marion McGarry on May 18, 1937, in Rahway, NJ.

Cliff joined the U.S. Navy at the young age of 17. In the service, he earned his GED and obtained the rank of second class petty officer as a radio operator.

After the U.S. Navy, Cliff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvary Bible College in 1963. While attending Calvary, he met and married Betty, his wife of 52 years. He later went on to attend Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and earned a Master of Divinity in 1971.

He retired in 2002 from Warner Brothers Studios, where he was a member of Teamsters Local 399. He worked in transportation for the movie industry. He was a member of The Bridge Bible Fellowship Church for 40 years serving as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, and Love Share visitor. He also served on the Men’s Ministries Committee of the Southwest Baptist Conference.

Cliff is survived by his wife Betty McGarry of Reseda, CA; two sons, Patrick McGarry of Queen Creek, AZ and Michael McGarry of Chandler, AZ; daughter Lee Hansen of Burbank, CA; grandson Sean McGarry of Paradise Valley, AZ; sister Grace Slusser of Camarillo, CA; and many nieces, nephews, and other family. He has joined his parents, daughter Daneen, brother Charley and sisters Joan and Lois in Heaven.

He will be remembered for his colorful stories, his wit, and his endearing smile that brought joy to all.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for family and friends, at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at The Bridge Bible Fellowship Church located at 18644 Sherman Way, Reseda, CA 91335.
