

Dana Dare, age 57, of Los Angeles, California passed away int he early morning hours of Saturday, July 29, 2023 due to complications related to Cancer. Dana was born in Rockland, Maine on May 13, 1966. He was the youngest of 7 children born to JoAnne Rogers and Kenneth Dare. Dana began his culinary career at the Samoset Resort in Rockland as a Dishwasher when he was 16 years of age. This began a 40 year career in the restaurant world, from McCormick and Schmick's where he was their youngest executive chef to House of Blues Hollywood where he was the Executive Chef for 10 years. Culminating in his most recent position as Corporate Executive Chef for BOA Steakhouse. Decades of dedication to his craft has made him a legendary Culinarian known to many chefs and restaurateurs around the world.
At home, Dana was known as the father of two children, Nika & Ethan, as well as a loving husband to his wife Kristine. He enjoyed travelling around the world, curating antiques, and beating his best friends at golf, poker, darts, billiards, etc. One of Dana's favorite activities was spoiling Jax, the families Golden Retriever, rotten. Cooking him fresh meat for every meal and even giving him the occasional bite of Wagyu Beef.
Dana passed away with peace and dignity, his legacy was solidified by his decades of hard work and will continue on through those he impacted over the years.
