I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and met with the Dr. prior to my surgery.  He was the only Dr. I met with that offered me hope.  I will always remember his kindness and positivity.  Sorry for his family’s loss.

I have read the book "Manual of Clinical Oncology" and it was written by Dr. Casciato. A superb book reflecting his lifetime works for cancer patients. All the little details of patient management. He had an excellent understanding about cancer and how it spreads throughout the body. And now we, you doctors are getting the results. Thank you Dr. Casciato for sharing your understanding about cancer. You will be missed a lot. May your soul rest in peace!

My father had lymphoma and for six years we were in Dr. Casciato's care.  He was a sweet man and a great listener and thinker.  With compassion and expertise, he guided us through physical pain and overwhelming life and death issues and treatment decisions.  And we also talked about politics and medicine and baseball, he so loved the Angels.  His book on cancer like his life was a great accomplishment.  Once, near the end when my Father was not responding to treatment, Dennis said "I need to go home, sit down with both my dogs, and give this some thought.".  Later he asked me to do some legal work for him, which I enjoyed; it was an honor.  His staff loved him and we loved him and this is a great loss. Our sincere condolences to Dr. Casciato's family. RIP Dr. Casciato. You gave me hope on one of the darkest days of my life--and you were true to your word: you gave me back my mother. You made me laugh at the darnedest times and showed a level of caring and concern for your patients which gave the feeling they were all your family. I'd like to feel that for a brief time, we were.  We'll miss you.

Dennis Casciato was not only an exceptional doctor but also a superbly creative photographer. As a doctor, he was thoughtful, focused, compassionate and patient. I often came in at the end of his working day and we would always have wonderfully engaging conversations about art, photography and the creative process. His extraordinary black-and-white photographic studies, which lined the rooms and halls of his office revealed the soul of an artist and I believe that element carried over quite naturally into his work in the medical field. He was a fine doctor, a fine artist and a fine man. He enriched many people's lives, personally and professionally and I, like so many others, will miss him greatly.
