Diane was born November 7th, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Emil and Louise Nord, the youngest of three children with an older sister Jean and brother Eddie (deceased 2018). While attending college and studying to become a nurse she took up ballroom dancing classes in her spare time. It was there that she met her beloved husband, Donald Majer, (deceased 2003) whom she later wed on August 18,1956. They moved their family to sunny southern California in 1961.
Diane was a loving and accomplished wife and mother. She was “the rock” who was always there for her family and friends whether it be hosting and entertaining AAL business gatherings, helping at her children’s school and extracurricular events, being the church greeter, and volunteering on numerous church committees. Over the years Don and Diane’s school friends and their spouses from Chicago also moved to southern California. They remained especially close and socialised regularly calling themselves “The Chicago Club”.
Diane consciously looked for the good in every person and every situation. She was a happy and grateful person, always looking for ways to be of help and a true joy to be around. She was adored by all who knew her and will be missed.
Diane is survived by her three children. Lisa (Mary) and grandchildren Micaela and Daniel, Donovan and grandchildren Johnathan, Jake and Adam and great grandchildren, Jules (Tim Sells). Special animal friends also mourn the loss of their their grammie, tummy scratcher, and swedish massage therapist.
