Doris Mary Holly passed away on Sunday morning after a valiant battle with cancer. She touched many lives with her positive spirit and wonderful outlook on life.

Doris was born in Morristown, NJ and graduated from Morristown High School in 1961. Coming to Los Angeles in 1977, she was an active participant in Northridge Children’s Hospital, Les Dames at Chaminade College Preparatory in West Hills, CA, and countless other charitable organizations. Her life was dedicated to service of others and of the myriad of hats she wore, none meant more to her than role as wife and mother.

Doris is survived by her loving husband, Gerald of Pleasanton; son, Matthew; and daughter in law, Melissa of Chatsworth. She is also survived by her sister, Penny; nephew, David; and niece, Meredith of New Jersey. She was a woman of tremendous spirit and will be missed by all those who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Gates, Kingsley, Gates Funeral Home; 6909 Canoga Ave. Canoga Park, CA 91303 from 9:30-11:30am. The funeral mass will follow at St. Bernadine’s Catholic Church 24410 Calvert St. Woodland Hills, CA 91367 at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made either to Chaminade College Preparatory (attn. Brother Tom Fahy) 7500 Chaminade Ave. West Hills, CA 91304 where a memorial fund for football players will be established in her name or to the Sandra J.
