Gilberto was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and left his life there to come to Southern California when he was 27 years old to pursue his goals of opening up a restaurant. He owned and operated Vuelve a La Vida a Seafood and American food restaurant that was enjoyed by the Canoga Park community in the San Fernando Valley for over a decade.
He enjoyed taking his kids down Topanga Canyon to the state beach and buying them ice cream at Baskin Robbins. He enjoyed going on road trips in his RV with his family to places like San Francisco and San Diego while listening to The Beatles and The Zombies. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed running, swimming, and riding his bicycle. At home, he enjoyed collecting model boats and reviving classic cars like his 1982 camo green chevy pick up and his 1975 Ford Thunderbird. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church and the YMCA.
His generosity, free- spirit, and energetic smile that lightened the hearts of everyone he crossed paths with will not be forgotten. He lives in our hearts forever and leaves his legacy on this world with a son and 3 daughters
