Beloved husband and father, James Halliday, joined his Lord in heaven on June 1, 2015. Jim was born July 25, 1929 and is survived by his wife, Annberlin and daughter, Debbie, son, Greg and grandson, Ryan. Jim was born in Kalamazoo, MI and moved to Brookings, South Dakota for the majority of his life until he paid a visit as a young adult to southern California and fell in love with the weather and area. After serving in the Air Force, he convinced his mom and dad to also move to southern California. No more cold snowy winters! After enjoying some Arthur Murray dance classes, he soon met his wife of 56 years, Annberlin.
Jim enjoyed a long career in the 1950's emerging defense and aerospace industry from 1959 to 1991. In his retirement, Jim was an avid bowler and was a league captain at Winnetka Bowl. Many thanks to his friends at the bowling alley who enjoyed his spirit of competition and fun. Jim's other interests included travel to visit family, golfing, Dixieland Jazz and going to band events in San Diego, watching football, watching football, watching football and throw in the Indy 500...added bonus!
He enjoyed his time with family and will always be treasured for being the rock and support for us...we will miss him.
