After various years, he returned to Durango. In 1956 he returned to the States to Chicago, Illinois where he worked as a welder in Skokie, Illinois.
In 1958, he married Anna María (Corral). His first four children: Sandra, Cuca, Rosa and Polo were born in Chicago. In December 1963 they took their four children and moved to California. From then on, he lived in the San Fernando Valley. The first four years they lived in Reseda and since 1968 in Canoga Park. His last two children, Maribel and Chuy were born in Northridge, CA.
From 1963 until 1970 he worked in construction in southern California. He always shared that he was one of the first to build the streets and sidewalks of Westlake. Unfortunately, he had a work accident and couldn’t return, but this allowed him to study auto mechanics. In 1973 he had an accident and although he was never able to use his leg again, he fixed cars for more than 20 years from home.
On Monday, May 3, 2021 he passed away surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His desire was always to pass away at home with his family. The previous week he was hospitalized and was terrified that he would die alone in a hospital, but our Lord permitted him to come home and within an hour our Lord took him “home”.
Rest in Peace
