To the McGovern Family,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, please accept my sympathies. John was one of the nicest people I worked with at Sunkist. He was generous with his time and he enjoyed a good joke.  The only problem was that I had problems telling a good joke, unlike John, he was good.
He helped my sister Anna with her early retirement.  When my brother and parents died within 18 months of each other, John was generous with his time and words of encouragement, often taking the time to ask how the rest of the family was doing. He was genuine and funny too. It may have been that Irish humor that apparently according to John, was hereditary. We loved talking Notre Dame football and whooped it up when they won and shrugged our shoulders when they lost.  I will remember John as a gentle man and a gentlemen too. I'm sure he learned that growing up from his parents to be nice to everyone. To his children and grandchildren, John was one of those "good guys," you should be proud.  With sympathy, Chris Martinez

John McGovern was one of the "good guys". I will always remember his kindness & sense of humor. He was a man loved & respected by the staff & employees at Sunkist. And he made the best darn omelets!! My deepest sympathies to his family.

All of my condolences to Bob, Mary (parents,) Colleen (sister)and Nancy, (John's wife.)  I knew John from grammar school through college, we grew up on the same block and were in the same fraternity.  Although I've not seen him for many years, he was always a great guy and I was looking forward to seeing him at the coming high school reunion.  I am truly saddened at not being able to see him again and feel deeply for the loss that I'm sure his family is experiencing.

As the out pour of many condolences to the family it shows He made a name for himself .saw it at Uni hi, his personality  showed that he would be an extraordinary man..he will be missed by all who knew him..

John was truly an amazing person, I worked under his direction at Sunkist in the Employee Benefits/Retirement Department for over 17 years. If I could describe John in one word it would be "INTEGRITY", he lived and demonstrated it daily. John, you will be missed by so many :(.

John was an amazing man; he was someone I admired both professionally and personally and my heart aches at his passing. Though it is a small offering, the entire McGovern family and those closest to him are in my prayers.

I was really saddened to hear of John's passing. He was an extraordinary man. There are many at Sunkist who will mourn deeply his passing as his was a life of service, love, compassion and excellence. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Many condolences to the family. May you remember all the good times had with John. He was a nice man and good friend. Life is too short and we all need to live each day with gratitude and appreciation. We never know when our time will be up.
