Joseph Loras Dautremont III

Joseph (Joe) Loras Dautremont, III of West Hills, CA passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 68. Joe was born on September 19, 1957 to Joseph and Delores Dautremont in Santa Monica, CA. He was the fourth of 13 siblings, brother John and sisters Emily, Celeste, Jeanette, Michele, Yvonne, Lucine, Madeline, Clare, Suzanne, Rene and Nicole. Joe graduated from UCLA with a B.S in Chemistry in 1978 and with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1982. He did a one year residency at the V.A in Westwood and then opened his own private practice in Woodland Hills where he worked for the next 35 years. Several years into his profession, Joe decided to reduce his work week in the office to four days and take on a new job at UCLA as an instructor in the Dental School which he did for the next 23 years.

Joe is Survived by his wife Laurel, three children, Brittney, Paul and Erin and four grandchildren, Braxton, Caliana, Bella and William. He loved being a dad and "Poppa Joe" to the grandkids and it was a constant source of pride for him.

A Rosary will be held at Gates, Kingsley & Gates Praiswater Mortuary, located at 6909 Canoga Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303, on January 16, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

The Funeral Mass is scheduled for January 17, 2026, at St. Bernardine of Siena Catholic Community, 24410 Calvert St, Woodland Hills, CA 91367, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

A Graveside Service will take place at Assumption Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Rd, Simi Valley, CA 93065, on January 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
