Joseph Franklin O'Connor Jr., age 76, of Canoga Park, California, passed away on September 16, 2026, just two days shy of his 44th wedding anniversary. He was born September 16, 1950 in Los Angeles, California
Joseph’s life was defined by his deep devotion to his family and his faith. He is survived by his beloved wife, Julie (Swift) O'Connor of Canoga Park, and his brother, John Charles O'Connor of Santa Monica, California.
His life changed forever when he met Julie while working at Security Pacific Bank, where Joseph worked in the mail department and Julie worked in delinquent accounts. The two fell in love and were married on September 18, 1982. On their honeymoon in Hawaii, Joseph spoke a profound promise that would guide their marriage: "We will be together forever." Throughout their 43 years of deep love and partnership, they remained entirely devoted to one another.
A devout man, Joseph loved God and the Roman Catholic Church deeply, living his life with quiet faith and integrity. Some of his happiest moments were spent vacationing at the family cabin in Big Bear, California, a place of peace, warmth, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Mass is being planned for February, "The Month of Love" at St. Mel Catholic Church in Woodland Hills, CA
