Aunt Lois has always been one of my favorite Aunts. She was the sweetest, kindest, most loving person who always gave the best of herself. 

I remember when she & Bill and all my cousins came to Michigan to visit our family during the summers. Aunt Lois was always happy and smiling, full of joy and telling lots of stories. Family time was fun.

In 1977, when I graduated from high school, I was 17. My family and I took a train trip from Michigan all the way to California to visit our family there. I remember it taking about 3-4 days to get across the country by train. My parents and siblings stayed to visit for about a week then returned to Michigan. I got to stay with Aunt Lois in Canoga Park, California for another three months! I got closer to her and the rest of my California family during that time. My cousin and I traveled up the coastline to take in the beautiful sites from LA to San Francisco (it was the best trip ever), and I celebrated my 18th birthday in California. Aunt Lois and my cousins definitely made my 18th birthday a special occasion!  

After three months, it was time to go back home to Michigan. If I didn’t have a boyfriend back home, I may have stayed there forever.  And, I got to take my FIRST airplane ride all the way from California to Michigan - at 18 years old!  I often wonder how my life had been different if I stayed in California. 

I was so grateful and still am to this day that Aunt Lois allowed me to stay with her for so long. I remember her saying nobody could load a dishwasher like I could because I could pack the dishes in! We would often stay up late at night and talk, laugh and cry about anything and everything. Aunt Lois.

The memory of Aunt Lois and my California family will be with me forever. It was an awesome experience and I would do it all over again (maybe with a different ending). 

I’m so happy we had this special time together. 
I’ll miss you Aunt Lois, I love you too. 😘

Thinking of all of my sister's family at this sad  time. You have put up some beautiful memories via pictures, etc. Thank you for doing that.  When I think of Lois I only remember the love we shared as sisters and how much we would laugh together.  We never had a disagreement or arguement. Only love dwelled between us. She was a great Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and always did whatever she could to help each one of  you. We both could talk, so our long distant conversations were long. I treasure every one of them. Now you are at peace sister. Enjoying  your time of rest. Will see you in heaven Sister!

Sweet Lois. The prettiest and nicest mom on Sedan Ave. You always listened, you always knew what to say, the kind sweet voice of yours, I will never forget. I can promise you that, no one has ever, or could ever take your place as that sweet loving Lois on Sedan Ave.  It's hard to find someone like you. So, know that you'll always be Loved and missed.

My Aunt Lois was a truly gracious woman who made a fine name for herself by being genuinely interested and kind to all she met. A fine example for me to imitate. I will miss her, but am confident in the God she knew as a young mother,  will fulfill the promise that I will see her again in paradise. 

She loved her birthday crowns and fun sunglasses,  and always wore a smile ! We love you always Lois. Xoxo

She was a wonderful grandma. Caring loving and oh do gentle. Your kindness and compassionate was endless. I hope you are at peace and I thank you for all the love and memories you have given us.
