I knew Marie through Mrs. Frost and Marie was always the sweetest to all us kids when we'd "hang out" with them especially in the summers where we'd learn and grow with their guidance.
my deepest condolences to the family.

Marie and I have been very good friends since the summer of 1950. We worked at Kato Engineering in Mankato, MN for four years and had some memorable vacations together in Chicago and New Orleans. We moved to Minneapolis where Marie went to the University of Minnesota and I worked in the office at Greyhound Bus Company. She was the bridesmaid at my wedding in 1955 to Roy Hickman.
Over the following years we didn't see each other very often but when we did it was like we'd never been apart. We enjoyed our occasional visits together either in Monterey or West Hills. (Roy could never beat Richard at chess.) We always kept in touch by writing letters or, in later years by phone. Marie and Richard were at our 50th wedding anniversary celebration which was the last time we saw them.
I feel very sad about the loss of a very close friend. Our thoughts and prayers are now with Richard, Susan, and family. We are sure Marie now has a new home in heaven.

I was Susan's babysitter for many years, during which time I was lucky enough to get to know her parents: Marie & Richard. Marie was a bubbly librarian who loved all animals and Agathe Christie mystery stories. She's the only person I know who actually corresponded with Agathe Christie and received a hand-written response! Plus she was a great baker - my "go-to" recipe for potlucks was her famous "Hello Dolly " cookie recipe, and who could resist her scrumptious soft caramels! I loved the Bougetz' home because they had painted portraits of all their pets hanging on the den wall! Best of all, my dog "Shucks" was from their beagle Jeepee's litter. I know right now in heaven there are many Bougetz pets welcoming home their loving mommy, Marie!

Marie was a very special human being, a gift to all who knew her. She was equal parts elegance and grace. I worked with her at the Woodland Hills Library and she made being at work such a pleasure. Her wit and sense of humor were unmatched. She was genuine in every way and I will miss her friendship dearly. May she be at rest with God. My deepest sympathy to Richard, Susan and all her family.

I knew aunt Marie since I was a teenager. Going on fifty years now. There were times I didn't see her for several years at a time. But everytime I saw her she always welcomed me in her home and took a genuine interst in me and what I was doing. Whether it was being in high school and coming over to go the the U of M football games with uncles Dick and Jerry, or dropping in out of nowhere with hair halfway down my back after hitchiking 2000 miles hungry and dirty, or just stopping by like I did the past fews years with my family. She always made me feel like family, as uncle Dick did too. Her compassion and love for animals also made her a very person. too. I'm thinking of Uncle Dick, Susan, Brian, and Milo today. We'll all miss her.

Sorry to be out of town this weekend or I would certainly be there to say Good-bye to the great Lady herself. She tried to make me the best I could be. Can't say that it always worked, but Marie believed in me.
I really loved the photos, her life was full and happy.

Although I have not see Aunt Marie in quiet awhile , she was in my thoughts. I love and miss her and send out my love to my California family. She touched many lives and we are the better for it. One can never forget her laugh and smiles she sent your way.
