Michael “Uncle Mike” Contino passed away at his home Friday May 20 at 8:55am. He was 88. Uncle Mike was born in Boston, MA May 23, 1922 and moved to California in 1957. He was well known in the community as the owner of Uncle Mike’s Italian Restaurant in Canoga Park for 30 years. He made lifelong impressions on all who knew him. A viewing will be held at Gates, Kingsley and Gates Praiswater Mortuary, 6909 Canoga Ave 4-8pm Thursday May 26th. Services are Friday May 27, 11am at the LDS Church 5520 Topeka Dr, Tarzana 91356. Graveside will follow at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village, CA.
