Michael fought a good fight until he rested. He was called to come home on December 30, 2022.
Obituary
Michael Devon Jones was born on September 9, 1979, in Cleveland Ohio to the proud parents of Jeannie Carol Jones and Michael James Nichols. He was their only child. Michael was a beautiful angel sent by God to be with us for only a time and season, before our beloved Lord called him home at the tender age of forty-three.
As a child, he was a of ray sunshine, so inquisitive, friendly, and kindhearted with a loving spirit. He was so full of life and energy. He always had a very charismatic smile to match his vibrant personality that radiated through his kindness towards others. At the tender age of seven, he and his mother Jeannie Jones, moved to Long Beach, California and later joined by his baby brother, Sandy. He attended Franklin Elementary School and Belmont Shore Middle School in Long Beach, California. After the completion of middle school, he briefly moved back to Cleveland Ohio, where he attended South High School before returning to California, where he finalized his high school education at Uni High School in Santa Monica, California, where he played basketball both times. He attended Greater Harvest Church in Long Beach, California. He loved his grandmother, Mattie Pearl Jones dearly and has now joined her in heaven.
Michael loved to cook and BBQ. He hosted many events, but the holidays were his favorite times of the year, to cook and be with family and friends. He always ate last because he wanted to watch everyone enjoy the food that he made with so much love. His other hobbies and talents included, professional barber, playing basketball, aspiring musician and catering, car enthusiast and businessman. Michael’s nick names were Mufasa the Great, Tha God, Ntwadumela and The Great Encosi, which was a reflection of his Kingdom. Michael was an avid watcher of Animal Planet and very knowledgeable about animals. The Lion was his favorite which is why he called himself Mufasa and Ntwadumela, both powerful African Lions. Michael called himself, Trilogy, which he used during his rap career. He was a Poet and his lyrics were a reflection of his writing skills.
Michael’s final career was a Bail Bondsman, which he enjoyed helping people with their loved ones. He made several trips to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio to care for his late Paternal Grandmother, Sarah Nichols. He also worked with his dad in construction. Michael loved children, and a was a stern disciplinarian in education and required their best.
Michael was a family man and included his close friends in his village. Michael was a champion who loved life, making others laugh and very outgoing. Michael was inspiring, thoughtful, selfless, intelligent, wise, fearless, caring, protecting, nurturing, dependable and the most kindhearted man who had so much to give to the world and those around him. We will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his four sons: Michael (Mikey) Devon Jones Jr. (Texas), Jordan Jacob Jones (California), David Michael Moore (California), Nasir Chase Jones (California), and only daughter Natalia Sanaa Jones (California). Michael legacy lives through his children for all eternity. He loved his children and was truly blessed!
He is survived by his father Michael Nichols (Ohio), Mother Jeannie Jones (California).

He is survived by his sister Lacey M. Nichols-Lewis (Ohio), his two brothers Sandy (SJ) Jones (California) and Phillip Hobbs (Ohio), four aunts: Bonita L. Haller (California) and Anita L. Jones-Sheeni (California), Pamela L. Nichols (California), Charlene A Bibbs (Ohio) and his uncle, Tommy L. Nichols (Ohio). His common law wife Vanity Michelle Williams (California), four nieces, extended family LaSandra Sanders, Aaron Davis and a host of cousins, relatives, and dear friends.
Though Michael is no longer with us on earth, his spirit is in heaven with all of his family that have gone before him.
