Jeff, my heartfelt sympathies on your Mother's passing. I can empathize with you because my mom died in April. Honor your emotions. They will guide you.

You should be comforted by knowing that you did everything possible to make her comfortable by having her stay in her own home, which she wanted. We were Miriam's next door neighbor for forty years and we could not have asked for a more kind and thoughtful neighbor. Miriam always asked about our family and showed concern.  

When we were out of town Miriam was quick to pick up any mail or newspapers delivered after we left and before the stop order took affect.  

We did not have a pool so from the time we moved in, we and our children who were adolescents at that time, were invited to use her pool. That continued through the grand-children until they had pools at their homes or left for college. 

Miriam's friendly thoughtful ways helped make life good. We will miss her.

We regret we will be out of town on the day of Miriam's memorial.
