Myra E. Watkins

Myra Elise Watkins left this life on June 14, 2022. Myra was born on February 1, 1955, in Akron, Ohio. Myra attended Central-Hower High School in the Commercial Artist program and graduated in 1973. Myra was a devout Jehovah’s Witness for over 45 years. Myra worked for Anthem Blue Cross for 22 years as a Membership Customer Service Representative until she retired in 2020.

Myra was preceded in death by father Shafer Watkins, mother Mary (Whatley) Watkins, sister Karen Watkins, sister Ava (Watkins) Rolland, and brother Kevin Watkins.

Myra is survived by her brother Leslie Watkins and sister-in-law Mary Doyle; sister Donna (Watkins) Ruple and brother-in-law Darryl Ruple; her children Lorice Watkins and Damon Watkins; her grandchildren Elise Watkins and Damon Watkins, Jr.; and her great-granddaughter Amoura N. Peace. Myra is also survived by nephews Scentre’ Watkins, Jadrian Watkins (wife Stephanie Watkins), Kristopher Ruple and Samarr Watkins; nieces Lucretia Ruple, Lynette Watkins, Alani Watkins, Li Xia Watkins and Venicia Sales.

A visitation for Myra will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gates, Kingsley & Gates Praiswater Mortuary, 6909 Canoga Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Brother James Quinn will be officiating the service.
