college when your parents were still
living in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Your Dad was very special, always smiling and kind to everybody. We were privileged to have known him and we surely will miss him very much.

Oom Pao Chie was such a sweet and considerate man. He never once forgot to ask how we were, and how our loved ones are. He would ask how Harry was and how his golf game was, or when is Justin coming back home from Norway? How is Justin doing there?
The little details that he paid attention to mattered so much, and would always  respond with that beautiful smile of his. So infectious and bright! He loved playing with Ari and Cobe too, he was so patient with them! 
I will miss him and his presence so deeply! 
We are here for you, sending you love and strength, Brenda. You’re my little Sis, since we were little! We were inseparable!  We love you!

Dearest Brenda,
Your father was and always will be my favorite uncle I ever had. I am so grateful to have been part of your close family.  We have been more like sisters, rather than just cousins. And I love your dad like a father to me. I’m so grateful for all the support he gave me in all my running years. He was one of my biggest cheerleaders! What I will miss most is how he greeted me every time we met, “Hi Laura, did you run today?”  With that came a sweet soothing smile on his face. I will always hold the wonderful memory of that in my heart.

Oom Pao Chie was one of the best persons I have known in my life. Always friendly, supportive and helpful. l will always remember his love for tennis, playing with him and watching some games together. We will forever miss him.

The tennis foursome wishing Pao a Happy 90th birthday!

Dear Brenda,
For twenty years or so it was my extreme pleasure to play tennis with Pao, first as singles, and then with Leo and Kelly.  Our foursome became good friends. I met Pao at the high school when we were hitting balls against the handball court wall. He asked if I wanted to play a set. We exchanged phone numbers and thus began tennis every Saturday morning and Mc Donald’s afterward a steady tradition for the foursome. 
Even at 94 Pao was still playing and his skills were strong. His playing ability was always obvious, however his character stood out even more. He was a caring person, continually interested in everyone’s wellbeing. I was aware that he was thinking of retiring from the game he loved. He played as long as he could. He knew that Saturday tennis would end when one of our foursome could no longer play.  “One for all and all for one.” We will carry many good memories of our friend, Pao, and we will miss him greatly.

I found these two pictures with you,  Oom Pau Chie and Aunty Helen when you came to visit us in Toronto. We took the public transportation from our home to downtown Toronto and your dad had a long walk that day. Treated us with great food at CN Tower. Thank you for the great memory. Your dad was really a good man, loving person. We miss you Oom Pau Chie.

We send our sincerest condolences on the passing of your father.  We share very fond memories of him for the past 20 years. Almost every day we would see him walking back from tennis with a smile on his face and so full of life.  He was a very kind man and we are lucky to have known him. May he rest in peace and may his memory live on forever.
