With profound sadness and a lifetime of gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Patricia (“Pat”) Levy, née Hailer, who left us peacefully on May 25, 2026. Born in Boston, MA on October 8, 1930, to Joseph and Grace Hailer, Pat was the heartbeat of our family.
Pat embodied grace, strength, and an unconditional love that knew no bounds. Pat was a devoted wife to Clive Robert Levy, our dear dad, and a fierce protector, and our greatest inspiration. She brought so much joy and warmth into the lives of those around her. Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we take comfort in the beautiful legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind. She was our first home and our truest friend.
Pat was a graduate of Marymount High School and Marymount College in Westwood, CA. She was a third-grade teacher at St. Jane Frances de Chantal School, prior to becoming a mother. She developed a love of golf (influenced by our dad) and became a President of the Women’s Club at Braemar Country Club. Mom’s volunteer interests varied, even learning to become a docent at the L.A. Zoo, and she loved giving tours there. She was an active member in the Assistance League of the San Fernando Valley and the Woodland Hills Women’s Club for many years.
Pat had a flair for event decorating, with great creative and organizational skills. She also had notable talent in home décor. She had a flair for fashion, loved her gardens, enjoyed her favorite TV shows (including golf and sports) and was an avid reader. Her kitchen was a place of endless comfort, and she was a terrific storyteller. When she was able to do so, Pat dearly loved attending important life events of her children and grandchildren, including but not limited to birthdays, graduations, and sports events. She treasured the fun family vacations with her children, and hosting and/or being with family during the various Holidays. She so enjoyed the trips taken with her sisters, to Ireland, Italy and Nantucket.
Pat is lovingly remembered: by her sister, Sr. Gretchen Hailer, RSHM; by her children Theresa (“Terri”) Levy, Tina (Jack) Costenbader, Patti (Bill) Schiff, Brian (Anabelle) Levy, Laure Jeanne (Ron) Paul and Matthew (Karla) Levy; by her grandchildren Kristen (Jay) Herwitz, Kate Noia, Cassie Noia, Joey (Reilly) Schiff, Brittany (Brian) Muller, Brianna Holder, Jackie Paul, Abbie Paul, Lexie Paul, Luke Levy and Elaina Levy. Mom is also survived by her great grandchildren Zachary Herwitz, Brandon Herwitz, Celeste Muller and Derek Muller, and her nieces Susan (Jim) Penrod, Nancy Brown, nephew Peter Betsy) Brown, nephew Andrew (Anita) Brown, and extended family members.
Predeceased are her dearly beloved spouse, Bob, her son Bobby, her sister Marie Hailer Brown, her brother-in-law Byron (“Bud”) Brown, her nephew Lightening Brown, her brother Joseph Hailer and her parents Joseph and Grace Hailer.
Pat had her wide circle of friends, as she brought joy and warmth into the lives of those around her. Her kind spirit and deep love for family remained constant throughout her life rooted in faith and quiet strength. God Bless our dear Mom, Mum, Mama, Grammy and Nana.
The Family will hold a private service in Pat's honor at St. Mel Catholic Church, with subsequent private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
