Met Rick at Biff's in the late 70's. He still had his Harley. I enjoyed the wealth of information he possessed. He will be greatly missed. He's building hot rods in Heaven.

Met Rick in the early 70's and had him strip toys through the years. Hadn't seen him in years but never forgot him. Great guy for sure. What a loss for many!

I first met rick when my dad introduced me to him at flames I was just rely getting into doing pinstripes I was having trouble but unlike a lot of other artist rick took me aside and asked me what I needed to know he talked to me for almost two hours that knight answering any question I had that was the first of many Q and A's sessions we had but the best advice he ever gave me was go make a sandwich he said when your getting frustrated on a project stop and go make a sandwich thank you rick for your knowledge, your time your artwork and most of all for your friendship PAINT IN PARADIE RICK

 I don't come to Bob's very often on Friday nights, but when I do Rick would ALWAYS give be a big hug and a big smile!  His heart was genuine!  Today Ricks friends will gather to honor and celebrate him and his life here on earth.  We will all miss Rick very much, and are lucky to have had him in our lives! Some of us are lucky enough to have a "piece" o his artistic talent.  Condolences to Ricks family and all of his friends.

We met Rick 7 years ago when we moved into the house next door to his. We will miss seeing Rick on his porch, while saying our daily hellos, we will miss seeing him working on all of his awesome projects, our 3 year old son will miss seeing all the cool cars and motorcycles that stopped by to visit and getting to sit in Rick's orange truck, but most of all we will miss having Rick as our neighbor! Rick was a great person and will truly be missed! The neighborhood just isn't the same without him! We miss you Rick!

im going to give you a rick quote, he would come up, we would bump shoulders and he would say these guys think its a real car club lol...........he did a lot of cool stuff for me but, I was lucky enough for him to stripe my bronco, the cool thing is we did a couple of sessions and I would hang out and talk while he was doing it....missin ya bad....rip

I'll miss that sly little grin you had when everything was cool. I'd laugh when asked how's the car running you'd say " it's runnin good, it's runnin an that's GOOD! We will all miss you.

It's with heavy hearts that the staff and management of "Bobs Big Boy Northridge " say goodbye to a special friend. Almost every weekday he would come in for breakfast or at least a cup of coffee, many times coming back for lunch or dinner. The entire staff and many customers knew him , often stopping to chat about his truck or how he was doing . I hope they serve coffee in heaven. You will be missed.

Rick hand painted lettering and numbers on two of my race cars.  A true artist.  He would always bring me back to reality when I thought a job would be easy by calling me "piece o' cake Johnny."  I miss him already.

Gilbert Sr. and Jr. will miss you at Bobs. RIP

My mornings will not be the same without seeing Rick at Bob's for coffee.  I will miss him.

Although only acquainted with Rick over the past year, I've learned that he has been a talented & well-known pin-striper for many years, along with being a founder of The Yakety-Yaks car club.  Just about every car guy in & around The SFV knows who Rick is, and I am thankful to be one of them.  We will miss seeing his vintage truck parked at Star's or Bob's and knowing he's nearby, sitting with the fellas, sharing laughs & stories.  Very sad to learn of his passing, but I'm very glad to have met him.

I have known Rick for a few years since we were both old car guys. When i would see him at Bobs sitting in his chair, i would walk up and give him a kiss on the top of his head and ask, "how ya doin Rick?" He would just look at me and give me that trade mark smile of his, and say, "i am doing ok."
I will always remember that smile. Thanks Rick, and God Bless You.

I am sorry to hear of cousin Rick's passing. He was just one year older than me. As a kid I remember Rick being pretty animated. Aunt Mary Ellen showed me one of his show truck paint jobs on the cover of a Hot Rod magazine about 40 years ago. I only saw him a couple of times after we grew up, sorry to say. Rest in peace, Rick
