

On May 22, 1987 in Los Angeles, California, Robert Lawrence was the second son born to Annie Laura and Daniel James Lawrence Jr. After the birth of Robert, a new trend was started so, every two years their parents welcomed the new additions to the family, Antoine Lydell and Danica Laura Lawrence.
Robert was a loving, unselfish, self-motivated, competitive, and athletic individual. Robert was an individual who set high goals and expectations for his life. His style caught the attention of many and his caring and charismatic personality touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with.
Robert was dedicated to the Lord at Evangelistic Church of God in Christ by Pastor Lollis. Robert was an active participant Testimonial Cathedral Church of God in Christ. While attending Testimonial Cathedral COGIC, under the leadership of Bishop Hackworth, Robert was taught and believed that God should be the head of his life. At Testimonial Cathedral COGIC, Robert was in the Sunshine Band, junior usher board, purity class, and youth choir. Robert would attend Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ under leadership of Bishop Elect Dr. Terence Rhone during his brief visits home from Las Vegas. He attended Mountain Top in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During his preschool through elementary school years, Robert attended Davis Christian Day Care, Calvary Christian School, Celeste Scott Christian School, Christ Centered Christian University where Dr. and Mrs. Thrash, parents of former basketball player Bruce Bowen. Robert’s mother will always remember Mrs. Thrash because of the wonderful words of wisdom she received when Robert went away to college. Mrs. Thrash stated, be on the other end when he called. During his pre-teen and teenage years, he experienced a change of scenery when he started attending public schools. Robert attended Robert O. Townsend Junior High School in Chino Hills, California. Upon his arrival into junior high school, Robert began making his mark by becoming a member of the basketball team. Robert accepted the challenge to try-out for the Townsend Drumline because he heard that they were a part of a competition held in Hawaii. Robert attended Chino Hills High School where he was among the first students to attend the newly built high school. Robert was a member of ASB during his time at Chino Hills High School. In addition, he was also a member of the basketball and football teams and set many records which many still stand today in the Hall of Fame. Robert was a student-athlete who recognized that student came first. Robert received a Governor Scholarship Award and was inducted into the National Honor Roll Society. He graduated from Chino Hills High School as the first graduating class in 2005. Robert chose to attend the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and became a walk-on Wide Receiver for the football team. Robert finished his matriculation at UNLV in 2009, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Communications.
Robert Terrell Lawrence started his professional career as a Psychological Rehabilitative worker within the population of the Department of Family Services and Department of Juvenile Justice in 2009. Robert started his psychological career path at Skills 4 Kids in 2009, later became employed at Empowering 2 Excel in 2011 as a Behavioral Health Specialist and Unity Village Behavioral Health Center in 2011 as a Social Service Clinical Assistant.
He assisted the community by providing extensive rehabilitation mental health services to all of the clients that he worked with. Robert provided the youth and young adults with Basic Skills Training, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and Psychological Mentorship. Robert became a great asset to the community. Roberts’s professional mission was to prevent the continued risk of child abuse, neglect, drug abuse, teen-pregnancy, suicide, and school dropout among youth and young adults. Robert was always humble in his approach and truly believed that if you present the youth with a nurturing heart and love then you will show them that they can overcome any obstacle.
He had planned to further pursue his academic career at University of Nevada at Las Vegas in the fall of 2012. In going back to college he would have been attending the Sam Boyd School of Law and the Masters of Social Work program in pursuit of the dual degree of a Juries Doctorate/Master of Social Work.
Robert recognized that he needed to have a relationship with God. He knew that if he wanted to see his grandfather again in heaven he had to make the right choice to serve the Lord.
Robert leaves to celebrate his love, but yet mourn his departure; Daniel Lawrence Jr. (father), Annie Lawrence (mother), Daniel Lawrence III(brother), Antoine Lawrence (brother), Danica Lawrence (sister), Terence A. Lawrence (nephew), Laura E. Valentine (Grandmother), Aunts Diane Furlow, Ammer Moore, Mabel Bolding, Jacqueline Bean, Vera Tarver, Rosa Dawson, Eloise Storr, Carolyn Moore, Joyce Lawrence, and Helen McGuire, Uncles Lynn Valentine Jr., James Valentine, David Tarver, Artex Thomas, Dalton Moore, Willie Lawrence, and Bongo Bean and a relatives and friends.
