

William (Bill) Ashley Tisdale, Sr. passed away quietly at his home in Winnetka on August 14, 2024 at 93 years of age. Bill is remembered for his kindness, generous spirit, with a voice and personality that could fill a room.
He was the youngest child born to Winnie and Thomas Tisdale on May 8, 1931 in Athens, AL. Bill was doted on his older siblings who always referred to him as Bruh.
In 1951 Bill joined the US Air Force. Serving in Germany, he discovered a bigger world beyond Alabama, the joy of cooking and a love of languages, becoming fluent in German and Spanish.
In 1974 he started working at Rockwell International- Rocketdyne in Canoga Park, where he was employed for the next 18 years. During this time he met the love of his life, Elizabeth. They married July 23, 1983.
Bill loved God, his family, community, and his country. He was a long time member of the Woodland Hills Church of Christ and Rotary International.
He has survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth; their daughter Ashley Tisdale-Eggert, and her spouse Richard Eggert; grandchild William Eggert; his children from a previous marriage William, Jr. and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery on August 26, 2024.
