

Arthur Stecker of North Easton, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 85 years of age. Son of the late Etta (Orlick) and Morris Stecker. Loving husband of Enid M. (Wooster) Stecker of 62 years. Beloved father Michael S. Stecker and his wife Jennifer of N. Easton; Roy S. Stecker and his wife Crista Ligget of Carmel, IN; and Brett S. Stecker and his wife Tara Burdman of S. Easton. Cherished “Poppy” of Mara, Maxwell, Morrissa, and Eden. Brother of Susan Walling and her husband Robert of AZ.
Art was born in New York, NY on December 26, 1939. He grew up in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. He attended Brooklyn College, majoring in Geology, where he met Enid through a fraternity (Tau Epsilon Phi) brother. They were married November 11, 1962 at the Naval Officers’ Club at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Art joined the United States Air Force and after graduating as a Second Lieutenant from officer’s training school at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX, was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS for 4 years.
Art and Enid moved back to New York, living briefly in Brooklyn, then in Forrest Hills, Queens. Later they moved out to Plainview in the suburbs of Long Island in 1967, then to Syosset as the family grew. He resumed his military service when he joined the New York Air National Guard, climbing through the ranks, and ultimately earning the rank of Major. Art worked for Standard Motors, Swiss Re, Mattel Toys, Bristol-Myers, Nabisco Brands, and finally the New York City Transit Authority from which he retired after 15 years of service.
In 2000, Art and Enid moved to Carmel, IN where he enjoyed his part time job as a driver for Flanner Buchanan. They relocated to North Easton, MA in 2005. Art was a great patriot and was active in the Jewish War Veterans and the American Legion. His Alzheimer Disease unfortunately progressed, and he moved to assisted living in early 2020, but even when severely disabled, he still stood and saluted for the National Anthem.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, January 9th at 10:00 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Condolence calls may be made following the interment at the Stecker home at on Thursday from 12:00 to 5:00 PM, Friday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 to 8:00 PM (with minyan at 4:00 PM).
