Barbara (Karten) Dennis of Canton, formerly of Delray Beach, FL and New Bedford, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, held close by her loving family. She was 95. Daughter of the late Sara (Bresler) Portnoy and Louis Karten. Beloved wife of the late Irving Dennis, and devoted partner of the late Byron Shuster. Cherished mother of James Dennis and his wife Sharman, Barry Dennis and his wife Sandra, Louis Dennis and his wife, Karen. Loving grandmother of Jake and Liza Dennis, Tom and Emma Dennis, and dear sister of the late Joel Karten. Survived by many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 10 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Burial will follow at Plainville Cemetery, 1400 Old Plainville Road, New Bedford, MA. The family will sit Shiva following the burial on Friday from 3-7 PM at the home of Karen and Louis Dennis in Sharon, MA.
