Barbara was born July 23, 1933 to Francis (Palanofsky) and Alexander Lessoff, of Milton, MA. She graduated from Milton High School and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Jason Epstein. They were married until his death in 2006.
Barbara was also predeceased by her two brothers, Howard Lessoff and Stanley Lessoff. She is survived by her three loving children and their spouses: Mark Epstein and his wife Callista, Helen (Epstein) Briggs and her husband Steven and Carl Epstein and his wife Kelly. She is also survived and cherished by her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Barbara was a loving and caring person. She was dependable, “that one” special person we all need in our lives and we were all so fortunate to have her in ours. She was always there in times of need, for family, for friends, and for an occasional stranger. If you needed a place to stay, she opened her home to you. She always wanted to feed you, to care for you, and she was always the one providing meals during the Jewish holidays, not to mention all of the backyard BBQ’s and milestone celebrations. Animals were her passion, be it her own, an inherited, or a stray.
She will forever live in our hearts and our memories.
The Epstein family would like to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff at Fairview Nursing Home for their persistent love and care they provided throughout the years. Also, a heart-felt thank you to the Home Health and Hospice nurses who provided diligent and compassionate care in her final days.
Services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA on Thursday, May 27th at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory would be appreciated to your local animal rescue league or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
