Bertha (Kaplan) Taylor of Heights Crossing in Brockton, formerly of Randolph, MA. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on May 8, 2018 at the age of 93 years. Bertha was born at home in Revere and raised in Mattapan, MA, the dear daughter of the late Benjamin & Minnie (Rosengard) Kaplan. She was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls. She worked as a bookkeeper for Automatic Vendors in Randolph for a many years and then Copley Controls in Canton for 20 years, where she was awarded distinction upon her retirement. She was a very family centered person, always being focused on her children. She participated in Cub Scouts as an Assistant Den Mother, and still found time for herself as an accomplished oil painter and ceramic sculptor, ice skater, member of the Woodlawn Woman's Bowling League and Sisterhood at Temple Beth AM in Randolph. To know her was to love her. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham. Beloved wife for 63 years of the late Alan H. Taylor. Devoted mother of Gerry & Carol Taylor, Michael & Jody Taylor, David & Karen Taylor and Margie & Rick Veracka. Loving sister of Arnold Kaplan and the late Al Kaplan, Morris Kaplan, Beatrice Kaftan and Charles Kaplan. Cherished grandmother of Adam (Lilly); Lee; Sheri (Steve); Jennifer (Brandon); Amanda; Jason (Melissa); Cassandra (Sebastian); Julie and Kyle, and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA on Monday, May 14th at 12:45pm. Shiva will be held at Heights Crossing Assisted Living, 35 Christy Place, Brockton, MA on Monday immediately following the service.
