My former brother in law was such a sweet man. He always brought a smile to our faces & cared greatly  for my niece Amy &my sister Gail as well as my own boys . Ryan & Alex  Fisher 
He was always generous & helped us with any guidance he could provide. 
He will be missed & he’s sadly gone too soon .

I'm so sorry to learn about David passing. I'm very sad for you all, & am struggling for the right words of sympathy.
All of you were a large part of my young life. I'm not sure I realized that, at that time, or voiced my appreciation. Thank you for always welcoming me.

David was a great friend; always up, always humorous. He was very proud of your family; his grandparents, parents, & siblings. He loved his Boston sports teams & his Syracuse Orange! He loved being from Brockton!

Reading the other notes of sympathy, you can feel the impact he had on the lives of others. The way he cared for his friends should make you proud.

Dear Alice and Alan, I am so sorry for the loss of David . I am wishing you strength and peace during this hard time and my prayers are with you and your family.  

I have lost a dear friend. David will be in my thoughts forever. I share your grief. Our lives will never be the same without him. I could never find a better friend.

David Zaff, my step-father, has been an integral part of my life since I was 8 yrs old; I am now 45. David has raised me throughout, and many of the positive attributes I have acquired are due to his influence, kindness, generosity, and love. David can be best described as having a heart of gold. Last week David shared with me that his God-given purpose on earth was to help people; especially children and families in need. He did just that throughout his life, selflessly and altruistically. David has brought joy to so many in need. He has impacted so many people's lives in a positive way. He expressed to me how much happiness it had brought to his life. David was a very intelligent man and he had a keen sense of business. His ability to compute math figures in his head always impressed me. I am thankful for the countless hours he spent with me at our kitchen table when I was struggling through algebra. Later in college, his voice rang through my mind (with his British accent), "The Pythagorean Theorem is A2+B2=C2". He had an amusing way of saying things and made any daunting task fun. It makes me laugh to this day. He was a funny guy! I earned a 4.0 in College Math earning a degree in Education thanks to his dedication. David was well connected due to his ability to relate to others. He was more than willing to share these resources with me and others. Most recently he was mentoring me to become a real estate consultant for him for me to gain financial success. I only hope he realized how much that time meant to me. We have shared so many memories together over the years, but what matters most of all to me is that David and I were able to provide each other with a sense of a close-knit family, that both of us had always hoped for. I feel blessed to have had him in my life. Words cannot express my gratitude and love for him, the loss I suffer, and the loss his loved must feel as well. I send my deepest sympathies to his family and anyone whose life he touched.

I was so sad when I heard the news about David.  I met David when I babysat for him and his little sister and brother and that beautiful collie you had, Lassie.   I found David so adorable.  He already had the smile and warmth that from what I understand he carried throughout his life.   And really beautiful hair :-)  When I caught up with Suzie last summer I could feel her happiness and love for David (and Amy and Adam, too) as she caught me up on what he was doing.  May the intense sadness you all feel now soon turn into only the most wonderful memories of the love and life he shared with you.  Vivien

He will be missed!  A man with a heart of gold, always had a smile for you no matter what! 

I was very sad when Adam informed me of the news.  Growing up as a friend of the family, I remember all the times that David went out of his way to  do activities with us: mini-golf, Buncey’s golf,  Red Sox games and more. I even recall being at the Briarcliff Road house in February 1978 after the blizzard hit. The Zaffs turned to a snowmobile. And Syracuse student David called to tell Al not to worry because he would drive home in his SUV and make it around all of the stuck cars on the Mass Turnpike. Thanks, David, for your energy and passion. You had a big heart and loved everyone. 

David was a true friend with a heart of gold.  We will miss him.

First and foremost, I’m expressing my deepest condolences to David’s family. 
David was more than a friend to me; he was an advisor, a confidant, and a brother. Knowing David for over 41 years,, I loved his passion, his loyalty and his huge loving and non-judgmental heart.... 
What I loved most about David though, was not only his infectious smile and his always-apparent energy,  but his innate ability and desire to befriend anyone. He had no preconceived judgments about where someone from from, or how high they sat on their wallet; he just loved people and appreciated something in everyone. 
I could share so many stories of my life experiences with David over our 41 years of friendship, and I will save those for a more intimate and private gathering at some time. I will miss him dearly and will remember  him always.   RIP my  dear friend. Go Orange!
