Ed was born in Dorchester, MA to Morris Rubin and Ruth (Rittenberg) Rubin on May 13, 1938.
Ed is survived by his wife, Richley (Riki) Anderson Rubin of Franklin; daughter Andrea Hale & her husband Eamonn Hale of Sharon; son Larry Rubin & his wife, Gretchen Snyder Rubin of Shrewsbury; step-daughters Amy Anderson, Julie Rogers & her husband Tony Rogers; grandchildren Elizabeth Hale, Rachel Hale, Samuel Rubin, and Colton Rogers; sister-in-law Pearl Camiel, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was also the husband of the late Frada M. Rubin and brother of the late Robert Rubin.
He went to Roxbury Memorial High School for Boys and then Northeastern University, earning a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s in Chemistry, and an MBA. Ed retired as President and Chief Technical Officer of CHN Metal Finishing Group after 26 years. He was an avid runner, competing in 8 marathons all over the globe. He loved gardening, deep sea fishing, traveling, and summers on the Cape. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
