Francine Susan Bostwick, age 74, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at Hebrew SeniorLife in Boston, MA.
Born on July 19, 1952, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Gerald and Doris (Jacoby) Bostwick, Francine grew up in Norwood, MA, where she formed many of her lifelong friendships. She met and married the late Michael Oliver and moved to Medway, MA, where together they raised their two children, Scott and Rachel, in their cherished home on Ohlson Circle. Francine had an early interest in technology and will be fondly remembered for introducing The Oregon Trail to the students of Medway Public Schools, where she worked for many years.
Francine will also be remembered for her quick wit, tremendous generosity, and her love of reading, music, and naps. She showed her love with thoughtful gestures—sending cards 'just because' and finding endless reasons to give people gifts. Above all, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and many devoted friends.
Our family extends immense thanks to the Medfield Emergency Response Teams for their consistently prompt support given to Francine for over a decade. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible staff at the Hebrew SeniorLife Center in Roslindale for their exceptional care, compassion, and devotion to their “bestie” over the past few years. Even on the hardest days, their willingness to engage with Francine’s lighthearted banter lifted her spirits and provided us all with so much comfort, knowing she was truly loved. We are forever grateful.
Francine was preceded in death by her parents, many beloved aunts and uncles, former husband, and her cherished cousin, Karen Jacoby.
She is survived by her loving family - son, Scott Oliver, daughter, Rachel (Oliver) Craigen and her husband Steven, their children, Adalie Kay and Tula Grace. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Helen (Bostwick) West, and Sandra (Bostwick) Blinow and her husband, Nicholas; her nieces and nephews, Avery West and his partner Matthew, Elizabeth West, Matthew Blinow, and Maxwell and his wife Ariana Blinow. Francine was a proud grand-aunt to Crystal, Logan, Ezra, and Cameron, and will be fondly remembered by her many beloved cousins and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 10th at 10:00 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Services will be livestreamed via a link on the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel website. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA.
Following the burial, family and friends will be invited to gather for a meal at a local restaurant.
