German Izutskiver

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, German Izutskiver on Monday, September 7, 2026.

German was born on February 21, 1932, in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Over the course of his long and remarkable life, he witnessed victory over Nazi Germany, built a new life in America, and formed a lasting bond with his two great-granddaughters. A talented engineer, German took pride in building things with his hands: submarine communications systems for work, a summer home for his family, and school projects for his grandson. He was a devoted husband and father, always ready to help, soothe, and support those fortunate to be near him. He remained a lifelong learner, taking up a new language and learning to drive in his sixties. He was an avid reader, a passionate supporter of Israel, a committed athlete, and a lover of travel and nature.

German is survived by his daughter Irina, his grandson Daniel, his granddaughter-in-law Suzanne, and his great granddaughters Naomi and Amalia. We remember him for the generosity of his spirit, the curiosity of his mind, and the depth of his love of life. He will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Kopaigorod cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury.

Shiva will be observed at the home of Irina Balson on Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
