The following is a Eulogy written by his grandson. Sam Polastri:
Harold Shuman. What a name, right?
I really don’t know where to begin so I’ll start off by saying that Papa just had something about him, some type of positive energy that he’d transfer to anyone that was around him. He was certainly one of kind. And I know that everyone that I speak on behalf of will miss him dearly. But the memories we have of him will forever live on. You see when someone passes away, yes it is very sad and depressing, but it also makes you think about all the positive impacts that person has made on your life. Papa was a class act man, always taking care of and making sure that his lovely wife Shirley was happy. He also would make sure that his daughters, his son in laws, his grandchildren and great grandchildren were very happy as well. No matter what time of day it was, Papa was always happy and had lots and lots of energy. He was the type of person that would be very easy to talk to, very sincere, very distinguished and very loving. Some of my favorite memories of Papa was cutting a rug on restaurant floor at dinner or simply playing “the clarinet” as he’d like to say. He always kept things entertaining. I’d say a couple of his favorite drinks were an Ice cold Samuel Adam’s or a straight up vodka martini (NO VERMOUTH) on the rocks. Every time I’ve been out to dinner with him, that’s one thing I’ve always remembered. He was a great sports Fan for all the Boston Teams. He especially loved the New England Patriots and, of course, the Boston Celtics. I know he was very pleased with both team’s successes in the past 20 years.
