Levensohn, Harvey Stanley of Stoughton, passed away on October 7, 2025 at the age of 81. Born on May 19, 1944, in Boston, MA to the late Sarah and David Levensohn, Harvey grew up in Boston and lived in Stoughton for his adult life. Harvey graduated from the Mass College of Art; he received his Master’s Degree in Art Appreciation from Penn State University. Following his extended educational pursuits, he transferred his love and expertise for art and art appreciation into a long teaching career for the Boston Public Schools. Harvey’s goal was always to share the beauty of all things in nature, sketching and painting for posterity. He was a special human being who knew no end to making people happy with his special artistic talent and creativity…. always with his beloved Ann by his side.
After retiring from teaching, Harvey continued to spread his cheer and creativity as the Jewish Community Center of Greater Boston Director of South Area Seniors, developing programs of interesting current events, acclaimed artists, and much more.
Harvey was never idle – from his work for the Jewish Community Center to volunteering for and sitting on the Board of the Stoughton Library, his love of leading people to appreciate their lives – the good and the challenges – never ceased. Harvey’s son, Adam (Laura) and daughter Melissa (Dennis) Feist, his grandchildren Brady, Brett, Zachary and Noah adored their Grampy and followed him around his precious garden, learning to appreciate Mother Nature’s wonders.
Harvey and Ann enjoyed 55 years of love -- always together, always sharing the special bond of respect, love, caring, warmth and affection. Their relationship was something to behold!
Harvey will be missed by all who knew him and shared his love of life. May his memory be a blessing.
