

BERMAN, IRVING “JACK” of Sharon. Died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 19, 2012. Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mildred “Millie” (Reitman) Berman, daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Carl Rabinovitz, Phyllis and Larry Rivais and Linda and John Tyre. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer Tyre, Heather Rabinovitz, Elaina Rivais, Jamie Tyre and Justin Rabinovitz. Beloved uncle and great uncle to many. Born in Boston’s West End and raised in Dorchester, Jack was the only member of his family born in America. A Navy veteran of World War II, Jack was well known throughout Greater Boston as a proprietor of the former B&D Deli in Brookline. Jack and Millie retired and moved to Sharon in 1997. He was an active member of the Sharon Men’s Club and its Men’s Chorus as well as Temple Adath Sharon. Services will be held at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington St, CANTON, MA on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment Agudath Israel Cemetery, Baker St. West Roxbury. Shiva will be held following the interment at the Sharon Green Condominiums Clubhouse and Wednesday thru Monday at his late residence. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Temple Adath Sharon 18 Harding St, P.O. Box 320, Sharon, MA 02067, The Sharon Council of Aging Sharon Community Center, Community Center Way, Sharon, MA 02067 or a charity of one’s choice.
