Judith H. Shapiro of Canton, previously of Boston, MA, passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2026, at 87 years of age. Daughter of the late Sonia (Novack) and Soloman Waldman. Loving wife of the late Haskell (Huck) Shapiro of 57 years. Beloved mother of Lawrence and Robyne Shapiro, James and Shari Shapiro and Michelle Hart and fiancé, Adam Needel. Cherished grandmother of Emily, Julia, Justin, Braden and Shane and cherished step-grandmother to Devyn, Madi and Kenzi. Sister of Janice Newman and the late Robert Newman.
Judith was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Dorchester. She and Huck married in 1958 and after a brief period living in Mattapan, moved out to the “country” to Randolph where they raised a family.
For Judy, family was everything. She was involved in all her kids’ activities, always volunteering and contributing to the never-ending carpools. She was notorious for the copper colored 1967 Dodge Charger she loved to drive around in. Her home and garden were always meticulous and the center of gravity for gatherings of family and special friends.
She was a career woman too, with a three-decade career in the mens’ formalwear business where she not only made legions of grooms look their best but was a “go-to” person on the wedding fashion show circuit in Massachusetts.
Judy was glamorous and beautiful. She was always well dressed in the latest fashions, with her hair, manicure, and make-up always just so. She was friendly and engaging to everyone she met. Even as her health started to decline, she was eager to be an ambassador to prospective new residents that were exploring moving into Brightview Senior Living where she resided. She loved her weekly Mahjong games, the company of good friends, and the chance to spin a good story.
Judy was a force of nature who danced to her own drumbeat and passed on her own terms, finally deciding that dialysis was no longer how she wanted to live and making the courageous decision to stop treatment.
