Linda A. Bornstein of Stoughton, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 78 years of age. Daughter of the late Eva (Blumsack) and Robert Bornstein. Cherished aunt of Ami Smith and her husband, Richard Walzer of Sharon, the late Peter Smith, and her beloved great-nieces, Maya, Sophie and Phoebe Biran. Sister of the late Carol (Bornstein) Smith. Also survived by her cousins Harley & Jo Ann, Marty & Sheryl and Artie Hoffman of New Jersey and the many friends she considered family.
Born in Boston, Linda graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School in 1966 and went on to dedicate nearly four decades to the United States Postal Service, working at the downtown Boston Post Office from 1969 until her retirement in 2007. She truly loved her retirement years and embraced them fully. Linda found great joy in life’s simple pleasures — playing Mahjong, cooking, cake decorating, puzzling, and creating counted cross-stitch pieces. She volunteered at the Animal Protection Center in Brockton and was active at the YMCA in Stoughton. Linda adored her cats- Shanie, Buffy, Missie, and Nickie - and treasured weekends spent with her great nieces, who brought her endless joy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton. Burial will follow at Lord Rothschild Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Shiva will be held at the home of Ami Smith and Richard Walzer on Sunday following the burial until 6 PM.
